Grag'n'drop over UT.exe to trace

proposition for a new function: when some file is dropped over UT.exe, install-trace starts, same as if one would right click that file and choose context menu entry.
that will add good portability option for UT.

Re: Uninstall Tool 3.2 Beta

Steven, more features to be revealed is nice idea. ;) "stop"-hotkey should be good to have, but may raise a need for it to be customizable.

Re: a feature proposition - batch uninstall

how will it work?
will it be able to first use native uninstallers of several apps and then search for left-overs of all those?

Re: Sort by time and commandline support

sorry, not quite sufficient help. main problem here is with quotes(number and position of them). could you please state a similar example that can be used in batch file? it will be run not from UT folder, so full paths must be used.

Re: Sort by time and commandline support

Steven , can you please make a "live" example of appropriate command line syntax? i'm trying to make a button in custom file manager, using internal scripting "run" command, but can't archive success. :( for example i have UT installed in C:\Program Files\Uninstall Tool and i wa...

Re: Sort by time and commandline support

does command-line parameters mentioned anywhere in help file? sorry for asking, but i seem to be not able to read it - for some reasons font is too small and doesn't adjust with ctrl+wheel.

Re: Tracing modified registry values

i think skabour meant not a whole system snapshot but "tracing snapshot".. UT can't handle modified registry 'cause it catches only newly created keys/branches = so it seems to me, he proposed this: - UT-tracer catches installation - while monitoring UT traces what installer is opening and...

Re: Tracing modified registry values

in order to trace modification(or even make restore) there must be snapshots used, which is not the way UT makes trace.

Re: Continuously monitoring new installations

asaens, i can be mistaken, but IMO such monitoring could be too difficult task =it's not so easy to determine whether program is installing or just starting. yet, programs like Comodo use it's wast abilities over system observation as a whole, so that's much easier for them.

that could be a good option!. something like a First Run button at the same window with install-trace results.

5204 = it works! :smile:
yet, it would be good if context-trace-installed programs were highlighted too at next UT launch(same as programs that were installed ordinary).

Re: Uninstall Tool 3.0 Beta

you mean to save not-checked leftovers to delete in future? yes. it may be very useful as currently user has a chance to delete leftovers only once = all that was not marked will rest on a drive for who knows how long. for example me, rather often unchecking some of leftovers, always missed for abi...
