the beta does not work on mac mini late 2012. the normal version works just fine. do you know why?

Re: MFC freezes when Macbook is running on battery
Yes my mac mini still has these smc errors. I was kind of worried and I stress tested my mac mini to see if there was a problem with the temps and the responce of the fans. Nothing out of the ordinary happened. The fans while on auto mode speeded up when my cpu hit 95 celcius and kept it there for t...

Re: MFC freezes when Macbook is running on battery
I noticed these errors also about 2 months ago with a fresh, no apps installed os, so I don't think is a problem there. Also after a research lots of people have them, and apple changed the smc kernel after Lion and since then the errors started. I don't think there is somethink to worry about. Try ...

Re: MFC freezes when Macbook is running on battery
The smc errors are nothing. These errors started after Lion OS when they changed the smc kernel. I also had these errors, lots of them, I think all the sensors were involved. Then I did an smc reset and the errors were only 3. Also with a fresh install of Mavericks, the errors are still there! Did a...

Re: Mac Fan Contorl on my Macbook is freeze
Try resetting the smc controller: 1)Shut down the computer. 2)Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected. 3)On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time. 4)Release all t...

Re: Macbook Pro 9 2 fan never speeds up
Yes it is apple's threshold to speed up the fan when it hits 90 celcious. That happens if the temps are sustained for period of time. When I got my mac mini I was curious myself about this. The apple community forums are filled with people with the same question. But it is apple chooses to deliver a...

Re: Macbook Pro 9 2 fan never speeds up
I own a late 2012 i5 2.5ghz mac mini. I think it's about the same cpu with yours. My advice is not to worry about it . Coming from a pc, I'd say that these temps seem a bit high but now that I use Mac hardware I'd say it's normal. I stress tested my mac mini with the fan at auto mode for an hour wit...

Re: Mac fan set minimum speed
There are a bunch of pc parts makers that have invested in such programs for monitoring and adjusting cooling. These programs work only on windows and sometimes with specified hardware/coolers. If it is any help the most popular are corsair and nzxt. The correspoding links are http://www.corsair.com...

Re: Mac fan set minimum speed
No problem! The idea changing the min fan speed sensor based mode is great step to a good direction, but I think that the "ultimate" Mac Fan Control will be if you could implement a graph to give the user the ability to map out his own fan speed curves just like the following picture: http...

Re: Mac fan set minimum speed
Jumping into the topic, here my techical info. Just to clarify: when talking about setting different minimun fan speed we mean just adjusting the min rpm that the fan spins but when the temps rise the fan speed is control by the system like in auto mode? Macs Fan Control 1.1.11, Macmini6,1, Mac OS X...

Re: Feature request: improvement of sensor-based algorithm
Yeah I'm at math university myself so I know what you mean..! You can actually make use of this idea by breaking down the curve to small linear parts! How small is all up to you! Pic like 5-or more- points on the curve, make linear equations using two consecutive points, and you will have like an es...

Re: Feature request: improvement of sensor-based algorithm
Another idea! You could implement a graphing section where the user can map his own personal curve of how the temps affect fan speed! That can be really usefull when looking to fine tune your cooling according to what you do. The ability to save different curves as modes is a plus! I think that what...

Re: DIfferent algorithms
I think the improvement of the auto algorithm should be number 1, then profiles.
Also should you go with the extreme, normal, low settings, an auto setting would be great, where the app itself decides what alogorithm to use depending on overall coditions such as temperatures, ram being used etc.

Re: DIfferent algorithms
I'd think slow to normal, more to the slow side.Steven wrote:Hi,
Do you think that the current algorithm is sometimes slow or fast? Slow is what I'd think
What about the idea and the implimitation that I suggested?

Feature request: improvement of sensor-based algorithm
Hi guys! Love Macs Fan control on my Mac mini 2012 i5. A good idea for a feuture request is the ability to choose different algorithms for automatic fan speed regulation. What I mean by that is the ability to choose the sesitivity of the fan changing his speed. For example you could have like three ...

Questions
Guys the app is awesome!
Some additions like the following would be great!:
1) the ability to open the app minimized (not autostart with system)
2) the ability to save profiles (not a constant rpm speed but sensor based speed)
Thanks in advance!!

Re: Issue with updating of fan speed in menu bar (Mac OS X)
Still using the 1.1.1 build. I don't think anything wrong with it. The responsiveness of the fan rpm value and temperature value, are much higher now. Waiting fot the next update!

Great! Thanks for all the support by the way! I'll be happy to inform you for anything I notice to be wrong with the 1.1.1 build.
