I'm ecstatic to report that the update appears to have completely resolved this on my end! Running 1.1.8.1 and no issues when coming out of sleep thus far. Many thanks!

I've emailed a pair of logs. MFC's log only had messages from when it was first started up and from after I restarted it (nothing in the time frame when the iMac was asleep and first waken up when the HDD fan started spinning back up) so I included "All Messages", trimmed from a bit before...

I'm having the same problem, running Macs Fan Control 1.1.7 on an iMac 11,2 with OS 10.9. This has been a problem on 10.8 also. It's only affecting the HDD fan, and the HDD is a WD drive that replaced a crashed Seagate drive. The temp cable that is drive specific was supposed to be replaced with a c...
