Thank you for the timely response. I have just downloaded and started version 1.1.12.3 and it works. HDD had already been at 50 degrees Celsius for some time. I am glad it can cool down again now :smile: One question still bothers me. Was the update notification authentic and triggered by Macs Fan C...

Hello, I have experienced the same problem today. I have been using Macs Fan Control since 7 September 2014 (Version 1.1.12.2). The application used to start automatically in the background indicated by the fan symbol next to the Volume symbol at the top of the screen of my iMac9,1 running MacOs 10....
