Re: disable update check

the devs know about this for years and yet it still hasn't been fixed. my guess is they refuse to fix it because nagging for updates is basically advertising (assuming it opens a webpage if you choose to update, which i never tried, i uninstalled the program after getting fed up with the nagging).

Re: REALLY disable update check?

@biktor that was a good find. but no, unfortunately it does not work. its really stupid that strings exist for update checking in the registry and editing them does not stop the message from popping up. either its terrible coding by the developers or the program has been changed over the years to fo...

Feature Request: Setting to Disable Update Notification

seriously… the lack of action on this problem makes me question if you have any intent on fixing this. its really really annoying. honestly i understand why someone like gs2015 would give a nasty post because its outrageous that you can't have something as simple as a "disable update checking&q...

Re: REALLY disable update check?

I'm glad I'm not the only one that is frustrated about this. I have coding experience so I decided to take a look at the code for the program to try to bypass the update check. Unfortunately based on my first few attempts I was not successful but I was astonished as to what I found when I looked at ...

Re: REALLY disable update check?

applepiejr BTW Why don't you upgrade? because there is no need to upgrade if it works fine... it is understood that when new versions of programs come out (regarding anything) there is a risk that support will drop for you or something will break for you without the developers realizing it. basical...

Re: Feature Request: Setting to Disable Update Notification

also, there will be a new version by August 22nd (or before). how do i know? because that is when the program will automatically trigger to start annoying you to update. I looked through the inner workings and it seems almost half of the entire coding for the program is dedicated to this update nagg...

Re: Feature Request: Setting to Disable Update Notification

because if it works fine already, there is no reason to update it. The problem isn't so much that it nags if there is a new version, but it will also nag you even if there is no new version! As I said there is an automatic expiration date that triggers based on your operating system date. Go ahead a...

Feature Request: Setting to Disable Update Notification

I liked this program a lot, but for some reason you guys thought it would be a good idea to put some kind of automatic expiration timer in the Boot Camp program that opens a dialogue box asking to update. After your system date surpasses 3 months after the last version was released, the program will...
