Re: Let a fan be controlled by more than just one sensor
Hi Steven, yes, it is almost the same. In fact the OP is even asking for more, like logarithmic fan speeds. I'd like to stress, that for me it is important, that you allow arbitrary sensors to be mapped to a single fan. Only a subset like CPU + PSU + one hard-drive wouldn't work in the classic Mac P...

Re: Feature Request: Set temps, let's do the software the rest
Well I've already expected, the idea with profiles for each Mac would be too much work. ;) I've added my other small solution with letting a fan be controlled by more that one fan, which would be a bit more work on the user side to set up, but would make it possible to keep every component below its...

Let a fan be controlled by more than just one sensor
The "smaller" and much easier to implement solution for my prior feature request. ;) I put it in a new topic, so it is easier for readers to follow. Currently I can set each fan to be controlled by a single sensor readout. This is fine, if the fan is only responsible for cooling this singl...

Feature Request: Readout of DIMM Sensor on classic Mac Pro
Just realized, Mac Fan Control reads the temperature of DIMM Proximity 1 - 4 but not the sensor in the DIMM itself. iStat Menüs shows both the value for DIMM Proximity and for DIMM. DIMM Proximity sensor reacts much slower than DIMM sensor, so controlling INTAKE or EXHAUST fans based on a DIMM Proxi...

Feature Request: Set temps, let's do the software the rest
I've used fan control in iStat menus for years and resently switched to Macs Fan Control mainly because of the sensor based control of fans. Great software, congratulations. But for me to be the ultimate fan control tool, it should save me from deciding, which fan I want to control from which sensor...
