If I manually set the speed, it stays at 0 rpm
Does it mean that the fan is nearly dead?

Left fan speed of my MacBook Unibody is 0 (zero)...
Sometimes speed increases for a while (3or400rpm) then it goes down to 0, while the other fan runs quite always at ±1950rpm.
If I manually set the speed, it stays at 0 rpm
Does it mean that the fan is nearly dead?
