Re: Version 1.4.0 - doesn't work on Mac Mini 6.2 (Windows 7)

Bingo! All better. Thanks so much for all the last minute re-coding.

I'm guessing that choosing the CPU PECI would be the most logical choice for someone wishing to control the fan with the overall CPU activity - would that be correct?

While you've got the hood open...,

In the installation process, shouldn't the user be the one to check the check-box for the User and Distribution License? With Build 252, it's already checked. I know I'm an agreeable sort, but um....

Version 1.4.0 - doesn't work on Mac Mini 6.2 (Windows 7)

Nothing but trouble with the new version this morning, running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit (more details in sig below). The sensors displayed in previous versions, particularly the CPU Cores (I was using the Core 0 sensor with a custom range of temperatures), are not shown, and clicking on the Fan does not...

Re: Feature request: Show more than one temp/fan in menubar

While it does cost, it's fairly inexpensive and MacUpdate offers it at a discounted price from time to time. And no sooner said, than it appears - https://t.e2ma.net/click/8pwyv/sp5sfo/o6b69m $11.99 USD for a "Family" license (5 installations). I am in no way affiliated with either iStat ...

Re: Feature request: changing Minimum Fan Speed

-1 I can't think of a situation where I would ever want my computers' fans to be running at slower speeds than what Apple has determined to be the minimum for a given sensor/temperature. If anything, I want the opposite - to keep my machines cooler so that components which can be degraded by prolong...

Re: Feature request: Show more than one temp/fan in menubar

Since you said "menu bar" I assume you mean when you are running under the Mac OS. iStat Menus provides the ability to display a full range of information about your system and its various functions, including having multiple temperatures from multiple sensors displayed. While it does cost...

Re: Completely New To Macs Fan Control

Once you have determined the precise model of MacBook you own, read through this thread: http://forums.crystalidea.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1073 to find whether others owning the same model have determined the max temperatures for your specific model. Once you know that, you can determine for yo...

There is a version available specifically for OS 10.6, which dispenses with the update notice/check.

Re: Drop support of OS X 10.6

Thanks - let me know when and if you have something test-worthy, and I'll be happy to try it here on both my 10.6.8 machines. My suspicion is that it's something to do with the way the Mac OS handles Start-up applications in its System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items. In MFC, checking the "...

it must start /minimized Must? This is just my point - it does NOT start minimized. Also you can try using command line ..., even after applying this command in Terminal. Upon starting up, or re-booting, either of my machines into Mac OS 10.6.8, MFC's main window appears, unbidden and unwanted.

Re: Drop support of OS X 10.6

Yes, thanks for the Mac OS 10.6.x version, without the update notice. One thing, would it be possible to get it to start up in its "hidden to the menu bar" display, rather than opening its window every system startup? This used to be the state of things with the former 1.2.1, prior to issu...

Re: Should both installations be the same version?

fbl You can absolutely use the latest version on Windows, it's OK. Thanks. PS. Why wouldn't you upgrade OS X ? My older machines run more efficiently on the earlier OS. I'm concerned about the Backup Partition which Lion installs, screwing with my Bootcamp/Windows partition, as I don't have a lot o...

Should both installations be the same version?

I am one of the users running Mac OS 10.6.8 on the Mac side, and Windows 7 Pro SP1 32 bit via Bootcamp. I understand that you've dropped support for OS 10.6.8 as of the current version - ah well, too bad... My question: should I remain on version 1.2.1 on both operating systems (as I am now) or is i...
