Feature Request: System Preferences icon

Post by randyharris »

LOVE this app, others I used for SSD where the fan went crazy were great, but I like that this one does the CPU also.

But even though there is a: Macs Fan Control | Preferences | Menubar display | Icon | None option, it won't select.

Is this a bug? Love the app, but don't need to see it in my too crowded menubar.

Thank you,

Hello, thanks for the kind feedback!

How would you find(open) the app if it wouldn't have menubar & dock icons?

Launch it from say Spotlight to bring it to focus.

I have an idea, what about an icon in Preferences?

Not sure what you mean about a preference icon, you mean still up on the menubar? My preference in general is to keep things out of my menubar unless it's something critical to be viewing. Mac Fan Control is just doing what it should, so I don't see the need to have an icon for it always right there.

An icon under under the bottom group 'Other':

Ok, I'll mark it as feature request, but not sure when it can be implemented.

Hello,

I'd rather not see "another" icon in the preferences pane. I like it uncluttered.

Why wouldn't one keep apps in the dock or in the sidebar of the finder windows?
Or if you prefer put an alias on the desktop; search with Spotlight, use Alfred, QuickSilver or LaunchBar.
There are so many ways to keep those little icons visible or to search/find your app.
Why add some unecessary code lines? Keep it simple, please.

I love your app.

Thanks a lot.

Cheers and best regards.

Feature Request: Remove menubar icon

Post by azsx »

Would just like to add my support for any option that allows us to remove the menubar icon. The app mostly does it's thing without need for user intervention (this is great!) so I don't really want another icon in my menubar.

A system preferences icon sounds great to me.
