Tried this, but just got error messages from Terminal as the person on Page 3 of this forum did. Any ideas on the correct commands for Terminal.
sudo kextload macsfancontrol.kext
/Users/js_ss/Downloads/tjMaxTest_mac/macsfancontrol.kext failed to load - (libkern/kext) not loadable (reason unspecified); check the system/kernel logs for errors or try kextutil(8).

I ran into 2 problems, the first was changing to the runTest directory in Terminal - It couldn't find the directory, so I just tried pasting the code snippet into terminal and it kept asking for a password, and wouldn't accept the one I typed. Any help and suggestions would be really appreciated. All I want to know is what is the maximum temp for me to set the app to.

FWIW, my test was done in El Capitan on MacBook5,2

Would that explain why I have a sluggish MB with very high, loud fan noise?

macsfancontrol.kext won't load for me. I see the following in the system logs:
