High kernel_task load

Post by Cyberdeth »

Hi. I've been using MFC for a looong time and absolutely love it. However since upgrading to Sierra, When I start MFC, when using sensor based fan control, CPU loads immediately goes through the roof. i'm talking 1000%+ and it doesn't stop. When using manual control, it gets better as in it only ups the CPU load every now and again. Again 1000%+ load sometimes and it goes for a minute or two then subsides, but a couple of minutes later, kernel_task loads go up again. However, when I quit MFC, CPU load for kernel_task immediately drops to 5-15%. For the moment, I cannot use MFC, but would love to run it. Could there be a threading issue? Maybe a runaway loop inside a thread? I'm running the latest version of MFC btw.
