Excessive wakeups system diagnostic reports on OS X 10.11.6

Post by kstheory »

For the past week, I have seen 3-4 system diagnostic reports being written by OS X El Capitan. The reports are all related to wakeups.

Here is the line in the system log:

4/29/17 1:43:34.000 PM kernel[0]: process MacsFanControl[14593] caught causing excessive wakeups. Observed wakeups rate (per sec): 211; Maximum permitted wakeups rate (per sec): 150; Observation period: 300 seconds; Task lifetime number of wakeups: 45083

Here's the top of the corresponding system diagnostic report. I can post more if required:

I'm wondering if the "Minor small improvments" in 1.4.9 included a fix to this.

I am still getting daily excessive wakeups diagnostic reports. (Same set-up as my initial post: running El Capitan 10.11.6 on MacPro 1,1.)

Thank you.
