Fan speed 0rpm

Post by 3_14159265359 »

My computer is MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015), version 10.10.5
The app always show that the fan is running at 0rpm, even if
  1. I set it at a constant value of 6199 (Which is max)
  2. core 1 is over 100 degrees and core 2 is over 90 (It is considered dangerous)

The fan should be used to cool the computer and lower the temperature. Does that mean that my fan is broken?
Thanks for taking your time to reply!

It's a known issue at the moment. if the system decides to not need the fans and smc displays 0rpm, MFC cannot control the fans. Will be solved soon.

Update: I actually checked the issue with my macbook pro (same as yours). When the fan off, the app successfully sets desired RPM
