too few cores

Post by pacarts »

I have an iMac 11.3 27" quad i7, 2.8ghz. After an ssd install, I installed MFC and discovered only 2 cores were listed. Is this normal?

I have the same issue on my i7 Quad-Core iMac 11,1.   Only two cores show up, but I am confirmed running 8 threads over 4 cores.

The SMC gives only only on 2 cores. Using another API (Intel) it's possible to get extended information, but we're not planning this at the moment.
