Fan Control cant find HDD temperature (Windows)

Post by mib »

Hi

I replaced my defect HDD in a iMac 10,1 (mid 2009) with a 2GB WD (WD20EZRX).
I now installed Win7 64bit in Bootcamp and found Mac Control to control the fan for me. I was very happy :D
However - the program do not detect the temperature of the HDD and therefore I cannot set it to a sensor based value.
Please advice if I need to do something?
Thanks.

PS: Other programs have detected the HDD temp via SMART so the hardware should be ok.

Do you see your new HDD in the list of sensors?

Please post a screenshot of Macs Fan Control.

Thanks

Here a screenshot.
As you can see the CPU temp seems to be... a bit off.

Thank you, please also copy technical info from the about dialog here.

There's an issue in beta 4 - all items with 129 C value are incorrect, these sensors are not supported. Please ignore them for now.

The main problem I see here that your HDD is not supported :(

I will prepare today a special debugging version of Macs Fan Control to track the issue with not displaying of your new HDD. Please stay in touch. Thank you.

Update: BTW, what your GPU on this iMac?

IMPORTANT QUESTION: have you tried mac version of Macs Fan Control on the same computer?

Let's try this now on Windows:
http://www.crystalidea.com/downloads/ma ... up_log.exe

It will produce 'log.txt' file, please post it here.

There should be log entries when the window populates the list of fans/sensors, quit the app, after that that the log must be complete.

Example:

Re: Fan Control cant find HDD temperature

Thats strange. I do not get any more in the log file even when I exit the program and restart it.

When I reinstalled the program I wondered why the speed of the fan was set to 1500 rpm. This was the setpoint I used on the "old" program, i.e. before I reinstalled the newest version of the program.

I am out of my league here, but is there a configuration file somewhere that needs to be reset?

The new installed program started very quick also - I do not suppose it was scanning a lot of adresses.
