My 3,1 Mac Pro has been playing up lately, with exhaust and intake fans going full speed constantly.
After de-dusting, SMC reset, battery replacement the problem persisted. AHT reported a Voltage Sensor error on the CPU, and I was preparing myself for an inevitable logic board replacement when I could afford it.
Then I found Macs Fan Control. So far this is looking great, and gives me some quiet and sanity back. Here are my settings at the moment. Do you think this is a reasonable way to go, as far as choosing a sensor for these fans? (The screenshot was taken during some reasonably heavy 3d baking calculations, normally the fans are running closer to their minimums)
Anyway, mostly just wanted to thank the devs for this helpful and free utility. Much appreciated.
