Help with my settings

Post by biddee »

Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU 540 @ 3.07GHz
iMac11,2
ctl_id: 0x8 for ctl_name: crystalidea.macsfancontrol.kext
TjMax T: 105

I have an imac that recently had its hard drive replaced. After updating Mavericks on New Year's Eve, the fan started running out of control, which is when I downloaded Macs Fan Control (thank you for this amazing software!). I would like some help with my settings please. I live in the West Indies so the ambient temp hovers around 30 degrees C. I have a fan pointed on the heatsink to help disperse heat.

When I set everything on auto, the fans rev up to over 6000 rpm but I still find they are running really high when I use ambient. Not sure how to get the pic to display on the forum but I have attached it. Hope you can help!

Hi Steven, I have seen that page. It doesn't really help me to know how to set my settings :). I don't know if my temps are normal, high or low. I apologise that I am such a dunce!

The HDD fan is now sitting at 5664rpm after watching a movie. I have the ambient temp range between 29 and 34 degrees C can it go higher?
