procedure for windows installation error on tracked install
Sometimes programs don't appear to install properly according to Windows. An error box comes up indicating there was a problem and asks for a confirmation that the program installed properly. How should this be handled when tracking the install? Say it was installed properly, then uninstall it with the tool for example?

Force removal is the answer: http://www.crystalidea.com/uninstall-tool-force-removal
Re: procedure for windows installation error on tracked install
The question was how to handle it at install time, not after. What is the proper way to handle the error box? Confirm that the install worked properly, or not? Force Install would come (or would not come) after this.

What error box? What is the proper way to handle the error box?
Do you mean that some setup comes with an error and refuses to proceed?
Install Tracker detects this, sure.Confirm that the install worked properly, or not?
Re: procedure for windows installation error on tracked install
Sometimes Windows complains after an install. He puts up an error box with the message that the install may not have completed properly and asks what you'd like to do about it - confirm the install was good or not?
The question is, how to answer that prompt? Confirm the install went okay or not?
I assume the answer to this question will depend on how Uninstall Tool is designed to handle it.

Re: procedure for windows installation error on tracked install
If a setup created an entry in Control Panel/Programs and Features, then Install Tracker treats it as successful install. Though you're still able not to save traced changes.
If not (successful), a user is able to decide whether to saved tracked changes OR revert them. I'm sorry this information is not yet covered on our website. Putting this to the TODO.
