MFC fails to launch when booted into a virtual environment. Error message "Unsupported hardware detected. The program is able to run on Apple hardware only." {see screenshot}
This thread hinted at the fix, but I'm wondering if it can/should be incorporated in the main releases?
http://forums.crystalidea.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1064
Also, I suppose that it doesn't need to run, as I can control fans on the OS X side with istat menus when using VMWare Fusion. Perhaps even with the fix, there would be a bit of unwanted/destructive contention for the fan control resources?
I think for now I will boot into windows and prevent MFC from running automatically at startup.
We have discontinued this forum and moved support tickets to the GitHub issue tracker. More info

MFC is not able to run in a VM. Normally MFC should be able to detect VM environment and fail to run. I'll check this now in VmWare Fusion 8

OK. I'll simply invoke MFC manually when I boot into Windows for dedicated resources. Then I won't see the error message when I fire up the VM.

Please try the latest dev version, when the app is minimized and runs on VMware, it should simply quit without warnings. Please confirm

Sorry, I reworked my windows side and moved to an LTSB release. The link seems to have expired.

Perfect. The behaviour is as you described when launching in a VMWare instance.
