Re: MacsFanControl crashes on Windows 7
This install did not work. Here is the screen shot and 2x ".dmp" files, one during the install and 2nd one is after install trying to start the app.

Steven
I was wondering if you had chance to review my last post and if there is any possible fix? If there is any additional testing I can do to help figure this out please let me know.

Re: MacsFanControl crashes on Windows 7
Looks like this problem is related to OS-specific settings, and it happens only on Windows 7. I'm not able to reproduce the crash on a virtual machine... Crash dumps indicate that there's some sort of memory corruption.
Can anyone please give me TeamViewer access to Windows 7 machine where the app crashes? Use Private messages

Re: MacsFanControl crashes on Windows 7
I don't have a TeamViewer account.
The install of my Windows 7 (via BootCamp) has not been "tweaked". MFC was working fine up to the 1.4 when I updated to 1.4.1 and then 1.4.2 is when my problems started. During that time there where Windows 7 updates that I did install.

There's no need to have a TeamViewer account, just download and run their app, tell us the ID and password (IN PRIVATE), and don't let the PC turn off. We just need to schedule the time.

Thank you very much for priceless help. We located the bug - it was in bios parsing code, bad code caused memory corruption on specific DMI bios dump. we'll fix it ASAP and post a new build for you in the topic. We didn't change ANYTHING on your PC, only created one folder on your desktop - CRYSTALIDEA_MACS_FAN_CONTROL_TEST, you're free to delete it. TeamViewer can be also terminated (and uninstalled if needed).

Done. Please test:
http://www.crystalidea.com/downloads/ma ... ev_281.exe
If the app works, please post here a screenshot of the app and technical data from Preferences->Diagnostics tab. thank you!
PS. We commited a patch (that fixes the crash) to open source project that we use on Windows
https://github.com/KunYi/DumpSMBIOS/pull/3

Re: MacsFanControl crashes on Windows 7
Steven,
WOOHOO!!!! No errors or problems during install. MFC after install started with no problems too. I haven't done a reboot yet but that is next.
Here is the "technical info" and the screen shoot of the MFC app working.
Thank you VERY MUCH!!!
