Re: Overheating problems and MFC- Check Important Screws!

The kext is not signed, but I had no problems with
loading it under OS X prior to Yosemite (the only issue was OS X warning)
In 10.9.4 it is only a warning, but...

Re: Overheating problems and MFC- Check Important Screws!

Trying “runTest" in Yosemite- the console log sez: ERROR invalid signature for crystalidea.macsfancontrol.kext, will not load The chown seemed to do OK... It sounds like fbl got an answer of 100degC for a CPU in a MacBookPro3,1 -hot! My GPU is nearly always hotter than the CPU- the mysterious p...

Re: Overheating problems and MFC- Check Important Screws!

I run Xplane to stress the MacBookPro3,1 -I'll look into runTest! When I use the "Automatic (controlled by system)" values, I can get CPU and GPU Diode temperature of 180 degF, and the fans tend to repeatedly "surge" over time. I can easily set up "Sensor-based Value" f...

Re: Bug when fine-tuning Sensor-based Value... in Fahrenheit!

The fan control settings "Sensor-based value" and "Constant RPM value" seem to get forgotten after being entered- when one selects "Automatic (controlled by system)", and then switches back to "Sensor-based value" or "Constant RPM value". This isn't ...

Bug when fine-tuning Sensor-based Value... in Fahrenheit!

Just upgraded to Macs Fans Control 1.1.12.1 on a MacBookPro3,1 This drove me nuts when I was trying to adjust Sensor-based Values- it probably was in the old versions but I never noticed. I'd go back to check the setting, and they would have changed! And what is worse, they shrink a little more each...

Overheating problems and MFC- Check Important Screws!

Summary- Check that important screws are present and tight! I just replaced the logic board in an old MacBookPro4,1 with overheating problems. It has now become a MacBookPro3,1 -but no overheating problems! Macs Fan Control can help with overheating, but only up to a point. If you have overheating, ...

Re: Problem when putting to sleep / closing lid (10.9 on MBP4,1)

I am trying to now to test whether I can get the MBP to "gently" drift-off-to-sleep with the lid open, then close lid, open lid, close it again (before the screen sleeps), and see if it sleeps as gently as the first time- hasn't done it yet! You have a tough road with MFC... many people wi...

Re: Problem when putting to sleep / closing lid (10.9 on MBP4,1)

> Do you mean that MFC prevents the computer to go to sleep mode? Not at all! MFC performs PERFECTLY when the MBP is left idly running with the lid up! (I apologize for thr detailed, long-winded, confusing description of the problem) My problem is when I want to slam the lid shut and dash off with t...

Problem when putting to sleep / closing lid (10.9 on MBP4,1)

I just downloaded MFC and I am using it on Mavericks- it's working great on a balky old MacBookPro4,1 (A1260) that wants to hang whenever the GPU goes over 138.2degF. It keeps the GPU within range without crashing! When I leave the machine sit with the lid up and Idle, it will drift off to sleep wit...
