wrong temperature on macpro1.1 with x5355
Hi,
Macs fan control shows incorrect cpu core temperature on a apple macpro1.1 with upgraded cpu's (changed to xeon 5355). xeon 5355 is not recognized by apple firmware. Do you think this is a bug with macs fan control or a consequence of the fact that I use unrecognized cpu's?
Some more details: When cpu's are under load, macs fan control shows lower core temperatures.
Thanks

Note: the machine has a forced install of newer (unsupported) bootcamp drivers for windows 7. Officially supported drivers are available only for windows xp and windows vista (and that was the reason that I have installed macs fan control - I dont think that unsupported new bootcamp drivers make a sensible control of the fans).
Note: An error message that appears at system startup which I believe to originate from macs fan control is in the attachment.

Re: wrong temperature on macpro1.1 with x5355
Hi,
Unfortunately the commands failed as follows:
sak99s-Mac-Pro:macsfancontroltest_runTest sak99$ sudo kextload macsfancontrol.kext
/Users/sak99/Desktop/macsfancontroltest_runTest/macsfancontrol.kext failed to load - (libkern/kext) requested architecture/executable not found; check the system/kernel logs for errors or try kextutil(8).
I don't know if I did anything wrong or if it's just that kextload failed because the OS does not recognize the cpu (all that it recognizes is that the machine has 2 processors and a total of 8 cores, but the processor is unknown.)
Thanks,

OK, let's see what I can do. Pictures are in the attachment.
The first one (which is displayed second for some reason) was taken roughly one minute after starting POV-ray with their benchmark image, and the second one was taken a few minutes later.
Kind Regards,

im also seeing this bahavior on my Macpro3,1.
with the system loaded to 100% , my temps drop , when i unload the machine , at idle there Higher.
just like like the gentlemen in this thread with a Macpro1,1...
