MP 3,1 - Mac Fan starts Maximized + SIL is constant in Sleep

...and, if I manually "sleep" the MP, cannot wake it--must restart with power button.

1. Would you please explain what is "SIL"?
2. Why are you sure that Macs Fan Control is causing this issue? I've just tried putting my macbook to sleep without a problem (also set one fan to spin in relation to ambient sensor).

SIL = Sleep Indicator Light (located just above power switch (some may refer to this as the power indicator light, but in another Mac Forum, I've repeatedly seen "SIL" used to identify the lamp/light)
I disabled the Macs Fan Control (MFC), rebooted, and observed that sleep occurs normally; however, upon re-enabling MFC to start "minimized," it once again opens in the Maximized state, and later, when my computer goes to sleep, the Sleep Indicator Light stays illuminated, rather than varying in intensity as usual for most Macs with which I am familiar (Note: both of my monitors are put to sleep normally). If I manually "sleep" the computer with MFC running, the computer freezes upon waking, and I must depress the power button for 10 seconds to restart the computer.
Please keep in mind, I've only begun to piece this together, but upon registering on your forum, and reading other articles from users with similar issues, I thought I would explore the resources here as the logical next step.
I can't guarantee that MFC is the culprit, but have only observed this behavior since installing MFC.
I've been working around the issue for about a month or so, and thought perhaps the update to 1.1.8.1 would help. I'm continuing to use the program, in spite of these minor issues, because I like the objectives it hopes to achieve--which for the most part it does!
Hope this helps?
Bob

Thank you for detailed information.
Does the issue occur if CPU_MEM fan is reset to automatic mode?

It still opens in Expanded mode. I'll pass more information to you when my system goes to sleep after one hour. I get different results if I manually "sleep" the computer.
One note, perhaps worth mentioning..., I just remembered that I have ChronoSync set to sync some files at 0100 each morning: this may be affecting the "sleep" overnight issue regarding the SIL. I will further investigate ChronoSync as well and let you know.
For sure, as it stands now, MFC opens in the expanded mode, although set to minimize upon opening. Also, prior to contacting you for assistance, I had all of the controls set for "Ambient," starting at 72F, and only changed CPU_MEM, with the other three set to Auto, several days prior to posting. I'm assuming (maybe erroneously so...) that this may not have much to do with the issue, but still open to possibilities.
In order to test the ChronoSync/MFC combo--as it's currently configured--please allow two additional days to duplicate and test the combinations and then forward you the results.
Regards,
Bob

I discovered that by removing the check mark from the "start minimized" box, then restarting, and then re-adding the check mark to the "start minimized box," and again restarting the computer, the problem with starting Maximized has resolved. The program now seems to be functioning normally.
At this time, I don't believe MFC is responsible for abnormal SIL operation as described in previous posts. Additionally, I am now able to manually sleep the MacPro and resume normal operation upon waking while MFC is operating. Apparently I have some other issues, which--due to the erratic operation of MFC "Maximized/Minimized" issue--I falsely attributed to MFC.
I am going to close with my thanks for your quick response and questions, which led me to discover more about my computer's operation.
Regards,
Bob

Thanks for coming back! Good to know that MFC is fine
