I own an early 2009 iMac and use it at home for schooling, and gaming. Recently, my iMac has been shutting off while playing games and I found out it was due to heat problems. I installed Macs Fan Control and it has helped hold off crashes, but sometimes my iMac will still get too hot and crash.
I was hoping I could get a little assistance to get everything out of Macs Fan Control and to be sure that I had my fans set correctly. I just crashed today and took the following information shortly after:
I initially thought it was a harddrive overheating, but the Northbridge is the hottest, is that the problem area? And I've also thought about risking taking my iMac apart to clean out some dust to help with the heating, do you think this will help?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated and I thank you for creating this software that has helped numerous Apple customers.
