New user, Mac Pro 3.1, OS X 10.6.8. Just trying to understand.

1) Your product description elsewhere on this site says "Set any constant value to any fan (e.g. minimum)". So the constant fan speed settings entered are not technically "constant" but instead constant minimum speed settings? If so, this is not made clear in the dialog attached below.

2) When I change the "increase from" and maximum temperatures in the "sensor-based control" dialog, the values I enter do not stick, but slowly revert to what seems to be default values. Meanwhile, the fans do temporarily respond. Is this as intended?

3) The resolution of the degrees-F numbers seems to be based on the degrees-C scale. Not a biggie, just an observation. Or . . . ?

Oh, thanks for doing this utility. I would gladly pay something for it. And looking forward to future revisions.

Hello,

Please provide us with main window screenshot (without a modal dialog on it) and technical information from the About dialog.

1. Constant fan RPM means that the fan will be rotating at constant speed. You can set this speed to min/max fan value or 666 RPM if needed :twisted:

2. Sorry the question is not clear. Try to provide some screenshots and sample values.

3. Yes. SMC layer in macs is Celsius-based. F-scale is provided as an option for F-used users.

Re my Question 1 above, I KNOW from reading other posts before joining the Forum that you abhor modal dialog clutter in a post. BUT in this case the modal dialog was intended as pertinent. I was trying to compare the language of "Set any constant value to any fan (e.g. minimum)" used in your product description and which suggests that a constant minimum value could be reset -- to that in the modal dialog which suggests an absolute constant value being set regardless of the heat dissipation need as long as between min and max values. I see you are considering the former capability and look forward to that improvement.

Re my Question 2 above, I cannot seem to repeat the behavior I tried to describe. So please now ignore it.
