I cannot access MFC from anywhere

Et Al:
When I open the MFC app, whether it is from an icon on the desktop, double-clicking in Finder, right-clickand Open in Finder, or from Spotlight, I do not see anything opening up, let alone a screen.

I want to use the preferences and settings, but there is no way to access them as far as I can see. There is nothing in the dock nor in the menubar. Force Quit window and the Activity Monitor show nothing for MFC.

By the way, the permissions are Read & Write for me and I am the Admin for this Mac.

Any thoughts?
