No fan is displaying

Control fans on Apple hardware: iMacs, Macbooks, etc

No fan is displaying

I've just installed Mac Fan Control for a mid 2011 iMac running 10.10.1. I open the application and there is no fan displayed. The machine's fan is constantly running at full blast. Any suggestions?

reset SMC and uninstall any other fan controlling software
