Feature Request: Set to Auto on Reboot/Shutdown

It seems that when using Macs Fan Control, it leaves the SMC in an "unknown" state when rebooting. The fans don't seem to run properly until the machine is set back to Auto. For example, when updating the OS, it reboots and the machine gets extremely hot but the fans are at low speed. I would like to request the ability for the app (OS X and Windows) to set the fans back to auto or default SMC control when it exits. Thanks!
