thank you for the feedback. Looks like the reason is in the Qt framework we use

Re: Macs Fan Control quitting after update from 1.3.0 to 1.3.1
I got the same problem, 1.3.0 worked fine, but when updated, it crashed big time. Thank you Chris for bringing it up. I got the same messages that you have already posted.

Well, it works for me with El Capitan public beta 5.

Do you also have OS X 10.7 ?
Do you also have OS X 10.7 ?
Is Mac OS X 10.7.5 still supported?
I ask because I have a Mac Pro 1,1 running OS X running 10.7.5 and I upgraded to 1.3.1 and ever since then, I've had issues with Macs Fan Control.
The app quits within a minute or two after launch.
The app will not relaunch when I reawaken the computer.
I had zero issues with 1.3.0. Am I and the other Mac Pro 1,1 users in the same boat and do we need to revert to 1.3?
Or is there a fix?
(I made the mistake of clearing out my downloads folder of a bunch of clutter and because Macs Fan Control had been such a non-issue of an app for so long, I just deleted the .img thinking that I'd just re d/l it if I needed it again. Silly, I know. I should have kept the older version for just in case.)

crash after one minute
Recently had an auto-shutdown of system, a day or two after downloading macs fan control update 1.3.1.0 . Since then, macs fan control will open and run for about a minute, then crash. The fan speed stays at whatever it was when the program crashed.
Running Mac OS 10.7.5 on mac mini 1.83 ghz intel core 2 duo
Below is a representative report from crash reporter on the crashed thread.
Any help?
Thanks

I'm working on a workaround fix to disable checking for updates

Yes, I'm running 10.7.5, my Mac is one of the older models, actually the first 1.1 Mac Pro.
Thank you everyone for putting so much work into it, I'll update and see if I don't get any crashes again.
Re: Macs Fan Control 1.3.1 crash when checking for update (10.7)
Thanks for fix, I downloaded again and it's working now without crashing. Also checked for updates and did not have any problem.
Re: Macs Fan Control 1.3.1 crash when checking for update (10.7)
updated to 1.3.2 and it is doing the same thing the 1.3.1 update did before the fix (see post from september 2nd). i.e. crashing after one minute. please fix again!

I still use 10.7.5, and this program is one of, if not the most essential and important utility I use.
Thank you Crystalidea!
