Hi
I replaced the HD in an iMac 24" 2009. Of course, the fan was blowing like hell with the new HD, I installed Macs Fan Control with the options on the attached picture.

It works fine, but after an hour app. the fan begins to blow harder again. I also can see, that the recent level of the CPU is getting higher and higher right now.

Any idea what could help or what I'm doing wrong?

Hello krakenadler,

why you assigned HDD sensor to CPU fan?
the CPU fan control CPU/GPU/PSU sensors (iMac 8,1).

Try to assign:
ODD fan - auto or Optical drive
HDD fan - HDD proximity
CPU fan - GPU Diode or CPU Diode (normally the GPU temp is more critical)

In this mode I found a good equilibrium on my iMac 2008
