The 'control' section is missing in the new version.
Clicking in the blank area where the buttons should be has no effect.

Did you have previous version of the app installed? If yes, please run the following commands in Terminal:

killall MacsFanControl
rm ~/Library/Preferences/com.crystalidea.macsfancontrol.plist
killall -u `id -u -n` cfprefsd

Yes - I was running 1.3.3 before & had let it update.

Trashing the plist and restarting my cfprefsd sorted it out.

Could you please tell me which fan setting did you have before the update?

It was custom, based on cpu proximity

I have the exactly same problem with this post, i updated yesterday, and it start missing controls on the software.
I don't know how to solve it, please help. Btw, i am running it on windows 7
