Only one sensor (hard drive) reporting

I used to use Macs Fan Control quite a bit in OS Mavericks, 10.9.5.

In the last 2 months, I have installed OS X El Capitan and Windows 10 on my Boot Camp partition.

Macs Fan Control works fine under Windows 10.

However, under El Capitan, Macs Fan Control 1.4.2 shows only my hard drive sensor, and shows 0 rpm for both fans.

I've tried uninstalling MFC on the Windows partition, resetting PRAM, and have reset SMC twice; each time, the Mag Safe power charge indicator changed color as per Apple's instructions.

Since it worked fine in Windows 10, I'm not concerned about all my sensors being dead, but I'd like to be able to use the app under Mac OS X occasionally.

Thank you

Ghender4,

do you have any other fan controlling software under mac installed?

If yes, uninstall them.

If no, please install this one and check if it displays temperature sensors.

Never had any other fan controlling software on this Mac. Both Hardware Monitor and Hardware Monitor Lite had readings for all listed sensors, and they looked like believable temperatures, based on what I've seen before on this laptop.

Thank you for your quick response

Update - I decided to try using Macs Fan Control v1.43.

Upon launching, IT asked for some type of access permissions. Version 1.42 never did.

Anyway, it works fine. Is this in some way related to El Capitan's System Integrity Protection function?

Thanks
