BAD POOL HEADER Error in Windows 10

Curiously, the MAC version of this tool (on Sierra) causes a BAD POOL HEADER error when I reboot into Windows 10 boot camp partition.
Had the same fault with that other well known fan controller so don't feel bad. Trouble is, what do I do about it?
I have to uninstall the program on the MAC in order to avoid booting up into Win 10 with a big blue screen error?
Any ideas please?
