MFC won't open after install

I previously asked about this here:
https://forums.crystalidea.com/viewtopi ... 6186#p6186
and tried deleting the Preferences file you suggested, no help. Another poster added that she is having the same issue, also running OS X 10.8.5

I could use some other suggestions, perhaps a link to an older version?
Hmm. Maybe not, I tried installing older versions I had saved the zips for, still NG. App appears to unzip and claims to be open, but nothing shows up but the icon.

Hi,

Can you please post the Console log after you start the app (Applications/Utilities -> Console)?

Please also start the app manually with /log parameter and post the app log as well (should be on your desktop):
/Applications/Macs\ Fan\ Control.app/Contents/MacOS/MacsFanControl /log

Can't post the console log after the app starts because the app never starts. Plus there are dozens of console logs, so which one?

"Please also start the app manually with /log parameter and post the app log as well (should be on your desktop):"
/Applications/Macs\ Fan\ Control.app/Contents/MacOS/MacsFanControl /log

Please give me specific details as to what this instruction means. I'm reluctant to run Terminal for a command I am utterly unfamiliar with.

Please check with Activity Monitor that MFC is listed in the list of programs:

So...now what?

Please try to create a new user (admin) and run the app there.
