Finding it absolutely impossible to update SpeedyFox

I have been trying for ages to update SpeedyFox. Whenever I did, the new version would fail to displace the old version in my desktop. Nor did it make its own new separate icon.

I finally decided to try uninstalling. There was no entry for SpeedyFox in Add or Remove Programs or any of my several uninstaller programs.

I looked at http://www.crystalidea.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=89. I decided therefore to delete the Speedyfox icons from my desktop. I downloaded the latest version. But no new icons have appeared. So how am I supposed to use SpeedyFox?

Most programs get rid of the outdated version when the user updates, not requiring the user to uninstall the old version himself. Could you please make SpeedyFox work that way?

SpeedyFox is just a single executable file, just download the newest version and put it on your desktop.
