Unable to unmount HDD while Macs Fan Control is running

When the software is running, i can't properly unmount my second physical HD (added with an OWC Data Doubler bay which replaces the DVD-Drive). It unmounts it from the finder and spins down, but it immediately starts spinning up again. When i'm in OSX, i like to be able to completely unmount the second HD so it doesn't suck up battery.

Could you add an option so that doesn't happen?

Hi, Paul

Thank you for this report, I'll look into this issue soon and will keep you informed about results.

Well,

Temperature reading from available HDDs requires constant reading of its SMART data and the drive cannot be ejected when reading is active. It's actually supposed that fixed drives are not to be unmounted.

What if I'll add an option in sensors pane "Hide this sensor" to hide hdd and disable reading of its temperature (for current session?)

If that would make it possible that the drive stays powered down after "ejecting", that would be great.
