Issue with updating of fan speed in menu bar (Mac OS X)

Hi! I have a late mac mini i5 with the macs fan control installed. it does a great jod keeping it cool even in the summer! :good:
But when I go to play some GRID,(racing game from mac app store), and then quit the game the fan speed shown at the menu bar is still at the max 3000rpm although the time has passed and the cpu is cool. Using istat pro I can see and hear that the fan is not spining that fast but is down at the default 1800 rpm(since the mini's cpu is cool).
Entering the fan settings (regulated by the cpu diode temp) and just pressing ok, solves the problem and the fan speed shown is correct.
Any ideas? I think that i have tried everything. Reinstalling, changing settings..

Do you mean that fan rpm display is showing old value? Same value all the time?

Maybe you have Mac OS 10.9 Mavericks?

Yes the fan rpm display is showing the old value (about 3000rpm when cpu diode is 70 celcius right after I quit playing the game) and is still showing 3000rpm after the cpu diode temp is down to 55 celcius.
I am running Mac OS X 10.8.4 (12E55).

The rpm value changes to the correct value after reseting the settings I have already. fan speed rising from 55 celcious to the max temp for the cpu diode 100 celcious.

Are you saying that MFC only DISPLAYS incorrect value or also SETS incorrect RPM value after quitting from the game?

Only displays incorrect rpm value after quiting the game.

So it displays something like 2998 RPM all the time? No change after 1-3-5 mins?

I tried waiting and after 1 min the fan speed display was showing the true value! Thanks! :good:

I'll try to reproduce and fix the issue in any case

The status is still the same. I just have to wait 1/2 to 1 min and the fan rpm display is showing the true value. I'll inform you if anything changes.
By the way as a future addition to the macs fan control I would like to see the ability to save presets for controlling the fan speed accordingly to sensor temps so if I change the control to automatic I can easily change back to a preset without having to enter the temps over and over again.
Thanks for that wonderful app! :Bravo: :good:

UPDATE: Done playing just to get the mini up to temperature. the app seems to work fine :good: and the display at the menu bar seems to me a lot more responsive to the values shown. I'll keep on using it and you'll get updated as soon as i find anything or be sure that the build is good.
Thanks for the build/update by the way!

UPDATE: the build seems steady so far but is just a bit slow when I choose to open the app went I open the mac mini. Values shown at the menu bar display are correct and is still responsive.

What is slow? startup? Nothing's changed from 1.1.0

Yeah the startup. maybe it's just me.. I'll keep an eye at it. But so far everything else seems great!
When the update with the ability to save presets is coming out?

Slow startup can happen on a slow machine.
When the update with the ability to save presets is coming out?

Great! :Yahoo!: Thanks for all the support by the way! I'll be happy to inform you for anything I notice to be wrong with the 1.1.1 build.

Still using the 1.1.1 build. I don't think anything wrong with it. The responsiveness of the fan rpm value and temperature value, are much higher now. :Yahoo!: Waiting fot the next update!
