Just did a clean install of mavericks on a new WD hard disk since the other Seagate failed.

2009 model of iMac and the app crashes with no sign.

In the console
19/01/2014 9:20:05.028 am Finder[151]: 8837325: Attempting to SIGCONT to pid #241 failed, with errno=#3, or the process failed to actually start

There should be a crash entry in the console with "Macs Fan Control" text with a link to the detailed crash report.
