First, thanks for a great product. I have used it once before when replacing a drive in an iMac so that I could base fan speeds off of SMART temp instead of the SMC not seeing the new drives temp via firmware (since this drive did not have the requisite firmware).
I am currently working on a 24" iMac with a very hot PSU. The owner does not want to replace the PSU, but the heat is causing some problems (HDD @50C, which had one HDD fail, occasional freezes). He may replace the mac, but I told him I could boost the fan speeds manually and it may help a little until then. I have tried this app and SMC fan control, but no matter the settings, the fan speeds stay locked at around 1500 RPM. I have tried manual set and automatic based off of various sensors with no luck.
Does anyone know why it will not control the fans? I have reset the SMC, OS is Mavericks.
Thanks!

Due to connectivity issues, I had to sneakernet that stuff. Sorry I did not have it at first.

Re: App not changing fan speeds
What if you set all to auto and try to run some 3D game to warm it up?
Do all fan remain at minimum speed?

Re: App not changing fan speeds
I have stressed both the CPU and GPU and the fans stay rock steady at Minimum

Re: App not changing fan speeds
I have the same issue, same model iMac, also running Yosemite. Same version ran fine on Mountain Lion (I booted into a clone last night to see if it still worked and it did).

Thanks for the information. I wish I has the same iMac to reproduce the issue. Is there anything in Console?
