Correct location of licence.dat for portable version

I have the portable version with the licence.dat in the same folder as uninstalltool.exe however it still claims to be an unregistered version.
The licence.dat file is in the correct format.
How can this be fixed?

The location is correct, but you should make sure to enter portable license key.
For you case it's last 4 characters are B56H

It's all correct as far as I can tell but it still insists that it is an unregistered version.
